PROFESSOR OF BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING

The Ragnar Granit Institute of Tampere University of Technology makes research on bioelectromagnetism. The main research interests are in measuring and modelling bioelectric and biomagnetic fields of the heart and brain. The Institute has an international education program ind biomedical engineering and bioelectromagnetism and it gives all the education in English.
The Ragnar Granit Institute invites applications for a faculty position at Full Professorship level in Biomedical Engineering. The field of the post is "the theory, applications and method development of medical electronics". Applicants should have a PhD with demonstrated strength in research and commitment to teaching. The applicant is also expected to supervise both MSc and PhD students and to demonstrate leadership in the development of a research program.
Excellent teaching and research facilities are available. Opportunities exist for collaborative research with other faculty departments, national and international research institutes and the university hospital. Substantial research funding is available from the University, Ministry of Education and the Academy of Finland.
Salary rank will be that of a full professor in Finland. Initial appointment will be on a five-year contract. Successful applicants will be eligible for tenure after serving one contract.

- list of publications
- ten most important publications of the applicant in the field of the post
- a statement of the candidate's research interests including a plan how he/she would like to develop the research program of the Institute
- a statement of teching interests.
